Ltd., a subsidiary of CITIC Pacific Special Steel Group, and Schaeffler Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of cooperation on "Advanced Materials for Railway Bearings R&D and Application" in Jiangyin on November 17, which will strengthen the research and cooperation in the field of advanced materials for railways and jointly improve the service life and safety of bearings for rail transportation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As a fist product, the bearing steel production and sales volume produced by Xingcheng Special Steel has been the first in China for 20 consecutive years and the first in the world for 13 consecutive years. The enterprise's high-end bearing steel takes a leading position in the domestic market and is one of the most important suppliers of high-standard bearing steel to well-known bearing manufacturing companies at home and abroad, and the steel produced for railway bearings has passed the certification of railway customers in many countries.

Schaeffler Group is a world-renowned supplier of automotive and industrial products, with 2 R&D centres in Shanghai Anting and Changsha, Hunan Province, and 10 plants in Taicang, Nanjing, Suzhou, Yinchuan and Xiangtan in China. The company has two railway bearing production lines in Yinchuan and Nanjing. In 2002, the production line of Yinchuan plant was put into operation, mainly producing metric and inch system railway axlebox bearings, which are used in railway locomotives, wagons and subways; in 2017, Schaeffler's high-end railway bearing localization project was launched in Nanjing plant, mainly producing locomotive, underground and high-speed railway axlebox bearings. Schaeffler Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai in 2006 and is responsible for the research and development of Schaeffler products as well as the sales and after-sales services in mainland China.

The two parties have been cooperating for more than 20 years and the products developed by them have been used in many industrial fields in volume. The signing of this agreement is a reflection of the deepening of the strategic cooperation and the continued complementary advantages of both parties. The main purpose is to strengthen the layout of both parties in the development, production and application of advanced materials for railway bearings and to empower the development of the industry chain, as well as to respond to the localization requirements of end customers, further shorten the delivery cycle and improve the quality of local services.
