Recently, in the 2025 Environmental Disclosure Assessment released by the international non-profit organization CDP, NSK Corporation (hereinafter referred to as NSK) successfully secured a spot on the 2025 highest-rated [A List] for its outstanding carbon reduction performance through a series of effective measures in the climate change response field. Simultaneously, it also achieved a high rating in the water security category.

Achieving carbon neutrality remains one of NSK's core values in its business operations. Facing the urgent challenge of climate change, NSK advances its carbon neutrality goals by taking a holistic approach across its entire supply chain. In the “manufacturing” phase, NSK places high importance on collaborative advancement with upstream supply chain partners. By consistently and thoroughly communicating NSK's carbon neutrality philosophy to partners, and building consensus, NSK is progressively advancing energy usage data visualization, expanding its grasp of CO₂ emissions data, and steadily solidifying the foundation for carbon reduction. Furthermore, carbon reduction measures are simultaneously extended to the entire product lifecycle, from customer use to disposal, steadily reducing CO₂ emissions by lowering energy consumption.

CDP, the organization conducting this environmental disclosure assessment, is the world's only independent international non-profit operating an environmental disclosure system. Its disclosure framework has become the authoritative global standard for environmental reporting. In 2025, over 22,100 companies worldwide disclosed environmental information to CDP. The CDP assessment covers multiple dimensions including corporate governance, risks and opportunities, business strategy, target setting, and stakeholder engagement. This year, NSK achieved its first-ever highest rating [A List] in the climate change category, placing it among the top 4% of all assessed companies. This fully demonstrates NSK's outstanding performance in addressing climate change and environmental governance.

◎ NSK's Ongoing Initiatives for Climate Change Response

In its FY2026 Mid-Term Plan (MTP2026), NSK has set a clear target to achieve carbon neutrality for its own CO₂ emissions (Scope 1+2) by FY2035. To reach this goal, the company aims to reduce its own CO₂ emissions by 50% from the FY2017 baseline by FY2026.

To achieve these targets, NSK will continue advancing energy-saving measures, technological innovations, and renewable energy adoption to reduce CO₂ emissions. Significant progress has already been made, with FY2024 CO₂ emissions dropping to 420,000 tons—achieving the FY2026 interim target ahead of schedule. These initiatives and outcomes are systematically disclosed in securities reports, the NSK Report, and sustainability-related websites. Furthermore, NSK has publicly released the industry's first Carbon Footprint (CFP) calculation report for bearing products, continuously enhancing the intensity and transparency of its information disclosure.

Building upon its existing carbon neutrality policy, NSK has obtained SBT (Science-Based Targets) certification. This enables the company to steadily advance greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction initiatives based on the scientific methodology of the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative). Moving forward, NSK will continue deepening these efforts. While achieving corporate sustainability, the company will actively address societal challenges. Through more reliable and trustworthy actions, NSK will contribute to realizing a net-zero society.
